The first step is to fill out and submit a REAL (Retrofit Energy Assessment for Loan) form.
Village Energy Efficiency Program- The Alaska Energy Authority provides energy efficiency audits and improvements to community buildings primarily in rural Alaska through the Village Energy Efficiency Program (VEEP). Started in 2005, 51 villages received energy efficiency improvements with Denali Commission funding, followed by 21 villages funded through ARRA in 2010-2012. The program is expected to continue into the future focusing primarily on communities with the highest cost of energy and the greatest volume of fuel use.
