Energy – it’s what powers our lives

Whether we’re at home or at work, inside or outside, energy is all around us. It’s what gives us the ability to live comfortably in our vast state. We need energy that is affordable, sustainable and as local as possible.

The Renewable Energy Alaska Project (REAP) is a non-profit organization empowering Alaskans to make smart energy choices, powering local clean energy growth, and positioning our state as a global energy powerhouse. We are Alaska’s clean energy experts, educators, thought leaders, and collaborative advocates.

AVEC has supported REAP since the beginning. Climate change is ravaging our communities and REAP is helping advance solutions. The Renewable Energy Grant program would never have come to be without REAP’s leadership – and it’s making a difference.
