I spent last week in Fort Collins, Colorado at the Powerhouse Energy Campus taking a training called REcharge Academy with 25 other educators from areas throughout North America. We toured NREL's wind technology center, visited Vesta's blade manufacturing activities, and created fun stop motion movies about wind misconceptions all while learning some great lessons to teach wind and solar energy. Chris Rose, executive director of REAP, just spoke to the US Senate Committee on Energy & Natural Resources about the potential for infrastructure improvements. He was joined by other witnesses from around the State of Alaska to present to the Committee in Washington DC on how the infrastructure improvements could create jobs and reduce the cost of living in Alaska. Nearly four years ago my husband and I bought our house, a ranch home with ‘character’.
