Learn the basics of wind energy in this 3-day course! Learn about wind energy theory, the physics behind generators, residential wind turbine equipment and components, and how to select an optimal site for a turbine. You’ll review case studies of wind and wind-diesel projects in Alaska, learn about on- and off-grid systems, analyze the economics
of wind power, and take a look inside a Skystream turbine.
Katherine Keith coordinates wind-diesel activities in Alaska through the Wind Diesel Application Center. Kirk Garoutte owns Sustina Energy Systems and, using products he sells, has been living off the grid for 15 years.
