Recycling

A limited market for recyclable materials has made the implementation of recycling programs difficult in Alaska. However, many options for recycling do exist in Alaska’s major communities. Because Alaska does not have a sorting facility, it is important to properly sort your recyclables by material. Curbside recycling is available in some areas of Anchorage. Contact Alaska Waste for more information about curbside recycling.

Total Reclaim, a Seattle-based company with offices in Alaska, accepts electronics and lights. The Juneau Recycling Center is located at 5600 Tonsgard and accepts paper, glass, aluminum, steel cans, corrugated cardboard, #1 and #2 plastic, and plastic bags.
