CLEAN ENERGY EDUCATION

REAP empowers Alaskans to make changes to the way they understand and use energy so they can live fuller, richer, more energy-conscious lives.

REAP visited over 2,300 K-12 students in over 90 classrooms to teach science and math through the lens of clean energy.

–> Hosted an online science fair to engage students during the pandemic with Alaska Resource Education (ARE).

COLLABORATIVE ADVOCATES

REAP is Alaska’s clean energy voice driving local energy development, economic opportunity, and growth for a stronger economy and healthier environment.

REAP was instrumental in establishing a new, regional approach to electricity planning and operations in the Railbelt.

–> Featured in ADN for new Railbelt policy: Long-sought Alaska Railbelt utility integration finally becomes law

–> Made progress in establishing a green bank to unleash private capital on clean energy projects across Alaska.

VISIONARY PARTNERSHIPS

REAP is pushing Alaska to the forefront of the clean energy revolution in order to create a prosperous and resilient future we can all be proud of.

REAP’s local and national partnerships drive information sharing and collaboration.

–> Supported biomass with the Sustainable Southeast Partnership: Kake receives final plans for biomass district heating system

–> Won a grant to develop Alaska’s microgrids with organizations around the nation called the U.S. DoE’s Energy Transition Initiative.
