Fall is here and winter is not too far off. Here in Anchorage, as in the rest of the state, rising energy costs mean that it will cost folks even more to stay warm in the coming months. Fortunately, there is a lot you can do to reduce your energy use while keeping your home warm and cozy!

In the spirit of community and preparedness, REAP is proud to host a Winter Prep Fair at the Fairview Rec Center in Anchorage on Saturday, October 10, with a fantastic group of partner organizations:

• Center for Safe Alaskans
• The Alaska Center
• Alaska Housing Finance Corporation
• The Anchorage Health Department
• Cook Inlet Housing Authority
• Alaska Youth for Environmental Action
• SteamDot
• Alaska Public Interest Research Group

Folks are welcome to stop by between Noon and 4pm for free food and home weatherization kits; family-friendly activities and demonstrations; and the chance to connect with local nonprofits that offer the programs and resources that can help keep you safe and warm this winter without breaking the bank.
