The Department of Energy’s Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations recently announced awards for five community-driven projects to accelerate clean energy deployment in rural and remote Alaskan communities. But how have these project teams gotten to this point? What comes next? And what will these projects mean to the communities themselves?

Angoon and Chignik Bay are among the many rural Alaskan communities leading the way in our state’s energy transition. And with the recent announcement of significant federal support for their communities’ run-of-river hydroelectric projects, Melissa Kookesh, Brooke Leslie, and Nathan Hill graciously agreed to join REAP for an in-depth discussion about these transformational community energy projects.

What: An in-depth discussion with Alaskan energy experts about the ongoing work to develop local renewable energy projects and the myriad benefits they will bring to the rural Alaskan communities of Angoon and Chignik Bay.
