We are Alaska’s clean energy visionaries and thought leaders.

REAP is helping to push Alaska to the forefront of the clean energy revolution by sharing knowledge and creating partnerships inside and outside of Alaska. With the state’s high energy prices, remote communities, and harsh climate, Alaska is uniquely positioned to be a clean energy leader and innovator, and share that expertise around the globe.

Sharing information and bringing people together.

From the organization’s creation in the early 2000s, we have made it a point to bring an entire range of energy stakeholders together. REAP’s organizational members include clean energy businesses and developers, Alaska Native entities, communities, educational institutions and electric utilities. We also form strategic partnerships with entities across the state, the country and the world. Those partnerships allow us to share information and promote Alaska’s clean energy expertise.

Examples include the Sustainable Southeast Partnership, an Alaska-based partnership; the Islanded Grid Resource Center, a partnership between REAP and islanded communities in the Atlantic and Pacific and; the 2020 Isolated Power Systems Connect conference in Cordova, a partnership with the University of Tasmania and the Alaska Center for Energy and Power.

Featured Partnership Initiatives

AVEC has supported REAP since the beginning. Climate change is ravaging our communities and REAP is helping advance solutions. The Renewable Energy Grant program would never have come to be without REAP’s leadership – and it’s making a difference.
