We are the leading source for clean energy education in Alaska.

Through our educational and outreach programs, we are building a statewide community that understands where energy comes from and the implications of the energy decisions we make every day. Providing students with information about renewable energy and energy efficiency (together, “clean energy”), helps future citizens and consumers understand how to reduce energy costs, and greenhouse gas emissions.

K-12 Education

Our K-12 STEM programming impacts thousands of K-12 students every year and is building the next generation of energy-conscious citizens, consumers and leaders. These students will grow up to help create a resilient and prosperous future for our state. REAP has helped develop and promote numerous education programs including the AKEnergySmart energy efficiency curriculum and our Renewable Energy Education offerings.

Workforce Training & Networking

Our networking and partnerships in workforce development intend an Alaskan clean energy economy led by trained, skilled and hard working Alaskans. In 2017, REAP launched The Alaska Network for Energy Education and Employment to ensure that individual Alaskans can access quality instruction and training that lead to a variety of clean energy careers and opportunities.

Adult Education

Online courses for adult education are now available through the learning management system Canvas. Sign up for the AKES “Home Energy Efficiency” class for free through Alaska Housing Finance Corporation. Full instructions to register here.

Public Education

REAP’s public events and presentations across the state are helping Alaskans understand how clean energy supports healthier, more vibrant communities. Our Spring and Fall Energy Speaker Series gives the public access to experts and thought leaders that discuss the latest technological advancements, initiatives, policies and research. REAP also presents to groups of all sizes on an array of energy issues.
