Since he founded the organization 21 years ago, Chris Rose has guided and grown REAP into the nonprofit partner trusted across Alaska and known throughout the world for its work to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions for the benefit of all Alaskans.
Under Chris’s leadership, REAP has grown from one person to a trained staff of 15 professionals in offices in both Anchorage and Juneau. REAP staff have trained over 2,100 teachers to utilize its AK EnergySmart curricula to educate Alaska youth in science, technology, engineering and math through the lens of clean energy. In that time, REAP’s Educators themselves have reached over 38,000 students. REAP has also developed the Alaska Network for Energy Education and Employment and several other programs that provide communities across Alaska with workforce development, technical assistance, and other capacity-building support for their efforts to develop local clean energy solutions. And REAP has successfully advocated for a long list of policy solutions, including the creation of the State’s Renewable Energy Grant Fund and the expansion of the State’s energy efficiency and weatherization programs; much-needed reforms to the Railbelt grid; and the establishment of a state Green Bank.
Last Fall, Chris gave notice that he will be leaving his role as REAP’s Executive Director this September. REAP’s staff, board, and membership are beyond thrilled that Cady Lister has stepped up to lead our team as the organization’s next Executive Director! Cady grew up in the Golden Heart City of Fairbanks and has deep clean energy experience, including in her prior role as the Deputy Director of the Alaska Energy Authority.

In this moment of transition for REAP, please join us to celebrate Chris Rose; commemorate 21 years of shared accomplishments; and welcome Cady Lister as the leader who will launch our organization into its next successful chapter!
Please reach out to REAP’s Outreach Director, Donovan Russoniello (drussoniello@realaska.org), with any questions about this event.
